The first thing I want to put straight here is that diet is not diet and that everybody has his own interpretation of what diet means. Since this is also very important to me and I sure know what it means originally, let's talk about that first, alright?!

I will tell you why you should like it and how you will learn to like the word 'diet' and that in the end you can not wait any longer to start your own healthy diet plan.

Diet derives from the Old Greek word 'dìaita' which primarily means way of life or lifestyle. The Dietetic focuses yet today in scientific matters on the "right" nutrition- and life-style. Basically, diets are used in two ways nowadays: First, for weight balancing matters, so weight gain (!!!), weight loss and weight maintenance and second, as a treatment for diseases (based on the needs of the patient aimed nutrition).

Since Hippocrates, diet describes a certain alimentation or nutrition of the human or a person, which is build on a long-term basis concerning a specific selection of aliments/foods.
